  • Torc summit at 535 metres high

I will meet with my hiking group at Killarney at 10:30. After I have made sure they have the right footwear and clothing for our walk, I will discuss our day with them and show them our route clearly on the map. From the meeting point we have to drive 10 minutes to the starting point near Torc Waterfall.

We will start our walk together at a leisurely pace and I will make sure that everybody is comfortable and happy.

We will stop at regular intervals for people to enjoy the scenery, to take pictures, and have some food and drinks.

During the walk I like to talk with my group about hiking issues related to the area, and sites of interest such as standing stones, stone circles, ancient dwelling places, etc.

The walking route will be to Torc Waterfall & Mountain

REVIEW

Barbara - Ireland - 2020

Had a fantastic hike with Cesar today. As well as going to the top of Torc mountain, we then went off the beaten track which had much more spectacular views than the regular track provided. Cesar was very knowledgeable about the area and hill walking in general. He was very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend him for an unforgettable hike.

This hike is a good opportunity to experience mindfulness elements during the activity

It’s tailored with this aim in mind.

When we practice hiking, in a natural way we activate some elements of Mindfulness like:

  • Attention & concentration
  • Deep breathing
  • Feel your body in movement
  • Live the present moment
  • Active meditation
  • Listen to your heart rhythm....as we walk at a slow comfortable pace

The immediate outcome after the walk is balance in your body energy, your thoughts and feelings.

ITINERARY:

  • Meet time at 10:30 am
  • Distance of 8 km
  • Total ascent 400 metres
  • Duration 4 hours
  • Point of max. elevation at 280 metres

Walking together at a leisurely pace, I will make sure that everybody is comfortable and happy.

With stops to enjoy the scenery, to take pictures, to visit O’Sullivan’s Cascade & ancient dwelling places, to have some food & drinks, etc.

The route is suitable for moderate fitness level, via a green road, some tracks into the forest, and the lower slopes of Tomies and Shehy mountains.

I always aim to make the walks a very special and memorable experience for my clients. Every one of my guided walks has its' own particular places of outstanding beauty.

Lisa - US - 2020

Book this hike! Don’t miss this one! Cesar is such a kind & caring person who will tailor a hike to suit you, as an individual, perfectly. He loves what he does & has a knowledge of Killarney that goes beyond even what locals know of the area. I can’t recommend this hike enough. Tomies Wood is in an unique & untouched part of Killarney with gorgeous flora & fauna, mountains & ancient oaks, rivers & streams, waterfalls & stunning views that will remain in your heart & mind. You will feel very relaxed on this hike in that you can just be yourself and enjoy nature. I brought some food and a thermos of tea & we stopped whenever I wanted to take pictures & eat. You can hike as fast as you want as well. Do book this hike! It’s not to be missed!
